About Fondation Monet Giverny
I’m Claire Vasseur. I’ve been an independent tour guide based in Vernon since 2009, and I’ve been leading groups to Giverny every season for the past fifteen years. This site compares the excursions and guided tours of Claude Monet’s house and gardens available on GetYourGuide. It is not the official website of the Fondation Claude Monet, which can be found at claudemonetgiverny.fr.
Who Writes This
I live on the other side of the Seine, in Vernon, and I know the shuttle schedules by heart because I wait for my groups with them. I see the coaches arrive between 10:30 and 11:30 AM, I see the line in front of the house in July, and I see disappointed visitors leaving in April after missing the water lilies. That’s where this site comes from: the right option depends on the month, the time, and how you arrive, and no one was explaining it clearly.
What This Site Does and Doesn’t Do
It compares six different tour options, one per page, with the itinerary, what’s included, travelers’ complaints, and my take. It also answers the most common practical questions, from the best time to visit to how to get there, as well as questions about Monet himself.
It doesn’t sell anything. Bookings are made on GetYourGuide via the links and modules on this site. I don’t work for any operator, I don’t speak on behalf of the Fondation Claude Monet, and I have no affiliation with them.
